Rolling Road - Sun Ram XII

We have a Sun ram X11 rolling road which is computer linked to allow us to power plot bhp to 250 at the roadwheels.

This facility is available from £75 + vat per hour, and all group / club bookings are welcome.

When it comes to rolling road power runs people don't seem to be generally aware that the only accurate measurement of power is at the road wheel, any other figures given to you can only be calculated, if you are after the same accurate power measurement that the manufacturers use then the engine has to be removed and connected by the flywheel to an engine dyno and only then can you get a truly accurate figure.

When a power run is carried out there is only one place that the power is measured and that is at full wide open throttle, a power run doesn't take into account any other positions of that throttle or any other measurement of power in that range.

Even when doing mapping at all the load sites and at all the throttle openings on a fully mappable after market system, which on a rolling road will give you a precise power reading at the road wheel at that time, it is still not the same as when you do a final power run which is still only measuring the power of full wide open throttle.
